Euroconsumers at the Web Summit
The Web Summit is the largest tech event in the world, and Euroconsumers and Deco Proteste will be right in the middle of it all between November 2nd and 4th.
Euroconsumers and its Portuguese member organisation will be present with a booth to present the Space Shelter game – a joint initiative between the organization and Google that aims to encourage consumers to increase their degree of protection in the digital environment.
The growing number of cyber threats, catalyzed by the pandemic from March 2020, and which were mainly related to phishing/smishing practices, malware-infected systems, fraud/swindling, and digital misinformation, led to the creation of a platform that could explain to consumers all the dangers existing on the internet and what forms of defense in these situations.
Euroconsumers will also be presenting the finalists, and the winner, of the My Data is Mine Award. The award aims at supporting young scholars who can offer a visionary contribution to data privacy in Europe and worldwide. Euroconsumers received pioneering and thought provoking papers this year. The award will be delivered to the writer of the best competing essay on the PANDA Stage, on November 3rd at 15h55.
