BELT BOOST ENERGY LABEL TAKE UP

Raising awareness about new energy labels

Energy labelling is a key EU policy instrument for informing consumers about the energy efficiency requirements and other environmental aspects in products.

It is recognised and used by 85 % of Europeans. By 2021, some energy-related products will display labels on a new, updated and clearer scale from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient). The current system will be recalibrated to conform with the new regulation. The EU-funded BELT project aims to facilitate this transition period by informing and supporting all stakeholders along the value chain from manufacturer to consumer. It will reach 20 million European consumers and 5 000 market actors.
