REPper: REPair PERspective

The REPper project objective is to promote the transition to more sustainable choices and to a circular and resource efficient economy by developing the culture of repair.

Over the last decades, replacement has often been prioritised over repair whenever products become defective.  Consumers are not sufficiently incentivised to repair their goods when the legal guarantee expires.

REPper aims to change the mindset and attitude in policy makers and consumers by boosting the circular approach to products.  It also aims to increase people’s repair skills and to support SMEs in the repair economy with activities like the creation of new sustainable business opportunities and the upskilling in green job sectors.

The project aims to reach a wide target through three actions areas, all of which are strongly focused on cross-border cooperation:

1. Setting-up a REPper hubs network – a unique contact point, physical and digital designing and testing a transnational network of pilot services.

2. Creating a REPper factory for upskilling and reskilling, providing training at the highest EU level, to reduce imbalances between Mediterranean regions.

3. Building a new repair culture through “gentle nudges” that can trigger positive changes and new habits.

To do this, REPper brings together highly qualified and diversified partners, capable of capitalizing on the past results, implementing them with new actions for public and private targets: SMEs, public authorities, sectoral agencies, business support organizations, schools and citizens.
