Euroconsumers and its member organisations in Spain, Italy, Belgium and Portugal welcome the European Commission’s ambition for a competitive, innovative and resource-efficient economy through the Circular Economy Act. A thriving circular economy depends as much on confident, informed consumers as on innovative businesses: when consumers trust circular products and services, they create demand that rewards fair competition, drives sustainable innovation and keeps valuable materials in the EU. Euroconsumers calls for the Act to build a true Single Market for circular goods and materials, combining effective enforcement of consumer law with clear, future-proof rules, so that it closes not only material loops but also the gap between consumer trust and circular market reality.
