Euroconsumers' contribution to the Call for Evidence on the Housing Simplification Package

Euroconsumers argues that Europe’s housing challenge includes keeping existing homes affordable and usable, not just building new ones. Drawing on HORIS and CLEAR-HP projects and national evidence, it identifies renovation friction: high costs, fragmented advice, unstable subsidies and duplicated data. It urges simplification that supports households, complementing rather than replacing new supply.
