Els Bruggeman
Group Manager Advocacy, Enforcement & Communication
In its response to the European Commission’s call for evidence on the Digital Networks Act, Euroconsumers and its member organisations in Spain, Italy, Belgium and Portugal recognise that cloud computing and the rapid rise of AI make resilient, competitive and future-proof digital networks more important than ever. Building on its 2023 position paper “The Future of Connectivity”, Euroconsumers supports the EU’s ambition to strengthen digital infrastructure, but strongly cautions against approaches that would weaken competition, undermine net neutrality or raise costs for consumers. Fair, affordable and open access to digital networks must remain at the heart of any future framework.
