Single Market Published 31 January 2025

Euroconsumers’ response to the Commission’s call for evidence on the Single Market Strategy 2025

A competitive and resilient Single Market is not only about strong businesses, but also about strong, empowered consumers. Yet what works as a Single Market for businesses does not always work for consumers, especially when buying goods and services across borders. Drawing on real-life examples from its member organisations in Belgium, Spain, Italy and Portugal, Euroconsumers shows the barriers consumers face in their daily lives and calls on European stakeholders to remove obstacles artificially raised to protect domestic markets or companies engaging in unfair practices, so consumers can fully benefit from and strengthen the Single Market.
