Rail Passanger Rights Published 31 July 2026

Euroconsumers' response to the consultation on the targeted revision of the Rail Passenger Rights Regulation

Euroconsumers supports the proposed Rail Ticketing Regulation. Its test purchases of cross-border tickets found competitors’ trains missing from incumbents’ sites, identical tickets priced up to five times differently, and unclear fare conditions. It urges scoping rules to whole journeys, mandating standardised fare-condition data, itemised retailer fees, and stronger enforcement.
