Els Bruggeman
Group Manager Advocacy, Enforcement & Communication
In its input to the EU Consumer Agenda 2025–2030, Euroconsumers and its member organisations in Spain, Italy, Belgium and Portugal argue that consumer protection and competitiveness are not opposing goals but mutually reinforcing. Empowered, well-informed consumers drive innovation, competition and growth, pushing markets to deliver products and services that meet real needs. Robust consumer rights are an industrial asset: they reward better businesses, sustain quality and give companies confidence that their investments will reach engaged, trusting customers. Euroconsumers calls for the new Agenda to put consumers firmly at the table and make their empowerment a cornerstone of Europe’s long-term competitiveness, sustainability and resilience.
