Google Pixel 6a - fingerprint sensor issue

After a test conducted within the international ICRT framework revealed a significant security flaw in the fingerprint sensor of the new Google Pixel 6a, Euroconsumers sought information from Google. The test showed that, after registering a fingerprint, the device could still be unlocked using an unregistered finger. This flaw poses a serious risk to consumer data protection, especially given that fingerprint identification is also used for payment systems. Euroconsumers has requested clarification from Google on the actions taken or planned to address this issue, including whether a recall or software update is in place.
